Argentine Lignum Vitae (Bulnesia sarmientoi) is a high-quality timber that is native to South America, growing around the borders of Argentina, Bolivia & Paraguay. Also called Palo Santo, which means "holy wood" in Spanish, the heartwood in this wood ranges from brown, black to green with thin yellow sapwood that offers nice contrast. Most pieces appear green in color. This wood changes to a beautiful blue-green hue when aged briefly after working.
