This bundle provides both beginning and experienced woodturners great flexibility for turning small to medium sized projects and offers you substantial savings versus buying the chuck and accessories separately. The NEW! NOVA 2" (50mm) PRO-TEK Jaws are a versatile all-around set to get you started before moving onto more specialized jaws and is able to handle both bowl and spigot projects. The NOVA JS100N 4" Chuck Accessory jaws are designed for expanded dovetail, reverse dovetail and for gripping of larger 12-14" footed bowls and is one of NOVA's most popular jaws. It can also mount false wooden jaws, so customized jaws can be made for special purposes. The NOVA Pin Accessory Jaws are extended jaws that act like a Pin Chuck, expanding into a pre-bored hole, which is a useful technique for free form edge bowls as you don't have to bore an exact size. The longer jaws allow for a very powerful spigot grip for smaller work. This set also features a small dovetail which grips work away from the chuck face, allowing access to some outside bowl turning. The small chuck size and weight minimizes loads on small spindles and bearings. This chuck is a dedicated threaded 1"8TPI Reversible version, exclusively designed for the NOVA lathes (and other lathes with the same thread size). This ensures the chuck will stay securely mounted on the lathe, throughout forward and reverse turning applications. This chuck is dedicated threaded 1"8TPI and cannot be used with a NOVA Insert Adaptor.
