Great toolrest for the price.
I received my tool rest set a few days ago. They seem well built, and solid. They did however require a little alteration to fit my 12 x 36 lathe, and provide smoother operation. The curved toolrests were made from formed flatstock. The first alteration was to put a radius on the sharp edges so the turning tool would not snag, and to allow for smoother tool movement. The second alteration was to the height of the rest. They seem to have been designed to a height for a lathe with a 14 inch or higher swing, I wound up cutting about an inch off the part that fits the banjo in order to allow the rest to be set below center line of the lathe. (so the tools themselves could be set on center). So far I am very happy with this purchase, but be advised that for some lathes you may have to alter the height. For the price, if your willing to alter them to fit your lathe, this is a great set.
