Merlin2 utilizes spiral gears to work harder, operate quietly, and produce less vibration than the previous model. Safety improvements include:

• A one-piece cast aluminum safety guard that is both safer and more durable.
• A switch guard to reduce accidental starting.
• More resilient materials are less susceptible to damage.

The exterior includes a textured neck for better grip and an ergonomic design for comfort with less fatigue of hand, arm, and wrist. The interior consists of a new motor that powers effortlessly between 0 - 13,000 RPMs with improved efficiency and can be powered by an automobile's AC/DC power converter.

A new high-capacity fan and extra air vents on the neck and bottom allow the latest model to stay cooler and work longer. Merlin2's new circuit board and electrical components are made from eco-friendly materials and are RoHS-compliant. The tool is also energy efficient, pulling only one amp of power.
